When we first backed Simon Olsen and Dr Jonathan Nebauer in early 2023, we saw founders who understood something that most in the autonomy world are only beginning to grapple with today.
We are thrilled to share that Arkeus has closed its $25M Series A, led by our friends at QIC! We also welcome new investors R+ VC, Folklore Ventures and DYNE Ventures, along with continued backing from Main Sequence and Beaten Zone Venture Partners.
When we first backed Simon Olsen and Dr Jonathan Nebauer in early 2023, we saw founders who understood something that most in the autonomy world are only beginning to grapple with today; that billions of dollars being invested in drones, aircraft and autonomous systems still rely heavily on human interpretation and external processing to make decisions. Arkeus has developed human-out-of-the-loop perception to unlock the next generation of passive capability.
Arkeus is solving this challenge - at the edge - using world leading AI. Their hyperspectral optical radar systems combine advanced sensing hardware with onboard compute to detect, classify and track objects across any domain, day or night, in degraded and contested environments.
The validation has been powerful! In competitive US and Australian evaluations, Arkeus has demonstrated world leading detection ranges - up to eight times that of existing optical systems in degraded visual conditions. The technology is already deployed with the Australian DoD and the US DoW, and integrated with leading global platforms from Aerovironment Inc, Textron, TEKEVER and Boeing's Insitu Inc.
This round will support building advanced manufacturing capability in Queensland and the United States — anchoring sovereign production at home while meeting allied demand abroad. 🇦🇺 🇺🇲
